Schönbrunn Palace in Vienna is one of Austria’s most famous historic landmarks and former imperial residences. Built and expanded during the 18th century, the palace served as the summer residence of the Habsburg family and became closely associated with the reign of Empress Maria Theresa. The palace is known for its richly decorated state rooms, grand Baroque architecture and extensive gardens. The grounds also include the Gloriette, the Neptune Fountain and the former imperial zoo, Tiergarten Schönbrunn. Today, Schönbrunn is one of Vienna’s most visited cultural attractions and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
