Museum der Illusionen in Hamburg explores the ways perception can be distorted through optical illusions and interactive installations. Located in the historic Speicherstadt, the museum combines visual puzzles with demonstrations of how the brain interprets perspective, colour, movement and space. Its exhibits include rooms that alter scale and perspective, mirror installations, anamorphic images and experiments that challenge balance and spatial awareness. Rather than presenting traditional museum collections, the experience focuses on participation, allowing visitors to test their own perception while exploring the science behind the illusions.
