The M/S Maritime Museum of Denmark explores more than 600 years of Danish maritime history in Helsingør. Designed by BIG, the museum is built underground around a former dry dock beside Kronborg Castle, with the historic dock forming part of the experience. Inside, visitors can discover stories of Danish sailors, trade, warfare and life at sea through ship models, photographs, objects and interactive installations. Exhibitions cover everything from historic sailing and global trade to modern container shipping, while the dramatic architecture places the museum directly within the industrial history of Helsingør’s former shipyard.
