WOK – World of Kitchen in Hannover explores the history of kitchens, cooking and food culture through a collection of reconstructed interiors spanning centuries. Founded in 2010, the museum presents kitchens from the Middle Ages through the 20th century, showing how cooking spaces have changed alongside technology, society and everyday life. The exhibition includes a medieval kitchen, a 1900s household kitchen, the 1927 Frankfurt Kitchen, post-war kitchens, kitchens from East and West Germany and examples of international kitchen design. Guided tours bring the rooms to life with stories about cooking, domestic life and the people who used them. The museum also runs a teaching kitchen for children and young people.
