City of WestminsterEngland/United Kingdom
Westminster Abbey is one of the United Kingdom’s most important historic churches and has been at the heart of British royal and religious history for centuries. The present Gothic church was largely built in the 13th century and has been the setting for coronations, royal weddings, funerals and other major national occasions. Inside, visitors can explore magnificent Gothic architecture, medieval chapels, historic tombs and memorials dedicated to some of Britain’s most influential figures, including writers, scientists and monarchs. More than 30 kings and queens have been crowned at Westminster Abbey, making it one of the most significant landmarks in British history.
