Tate Britain in London is dedicated to British art from the 16th century to the present day. Opened in 1897 as the National Gallery of British Art, the museum occupies a grand neoclassical building on the banks of the River Thames in Millbank. Its collection includes works by J.M.W. Turner, John Constable, William Blake, Henry Moore and David Hockney, spanning painting, sculpture and other forms of British art. Visitors can follow the development of British art through the centuries, alongside changing exhibitions and the annual Turner Prize presentation.
