The De Duinhuisjes Open-Air Museum tells the unique and authentic story of life on the island of Voorne-Putten in days gone by. Located in an idyllic dune area in Rockanje, this small-scale open-air museum houses a number of authentic wooden dune cottages from the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. Here you’ll discover how small-scale farmers, fishermen, and reed cutters struggled to survive under harsh conditions in and with the rugged coastal landscape. The museum exudes a serene, nostalgic atmosphere and is lovingly run by dedicated volunteers who keep the region’s traditional heritage alive and well.
