MaassluisZuid-Holland/Netherlands

The National Tugboat Museum pays tribute to the heroes of maritime towing and salvage. Located in the historic former town hall of Maassluis, right on the harbor, here you can immerse yourself in the world of “Dutch Glory.” Since the nineteenth century, Dutch towing companies (such as the famous Smit shipping line) have played a leading role on the world’s oceans. The museum recounts the gripping and often dangerous stories of the crews who braved storms to salvage stranded ships, tow gigantic oil rigs, and conquer the oceans.
