Artspace is a leading contemporary art centre in Sydney, established in 1983 as an artist-run gallery. Housed in The Gunnery in Woolloomooloo, a former naval building, it supports artists through exhibitions, commissions, residencies and experimental projects. Rather than maintaining a permanent collection, Artspace focuses on new and evolving work across visual art, performance and other creative practices. Its program brings together Australian and international artists, alongside talks, screenings, workshops and other public events.
